Resident-Led Housing

We cultivate land and housing stewardship by nurturing class solidarity among neighbors.

LA Más collaborates with working class communities of color in Northeast LA to create alternative forms of affordable housing that allow residents to stay in their neighborhoods. Through popular education, policy advocacy, and technical/financial support, LA Más helps residents collectively purchase and steward housing together. Unique to our approach is the practice of economic cooperation between working class community members and higher income allies, ongoing cooperative training, and centering local residents in the process.

  • Technical & financial support for mixed income neighbors to collectively buy housing or for LA Más to initiate acquisition.

  • Facilitation for housing co-ops to share decision-making and build wealth.

  • Workshops, tool kits and cultural exchanges to make housing resources more accessible and share alternative models.
